1 Baking sheet
1 mixing bowl
1 Non-Stick Skillet
1 Sharp Knife
1 Cutting Board
- 14 oz ground pork, beef, or a mix 400 g
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 egg
- 5 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- ⅕ tsp black pepper
- 1.7 oz Gouda cheese 50 g
- 5 tbsp sparkling water
- 1 tsp fresh parsley finely chopped
- 2 tbsp oil for sautéing and greasing the baking sheet
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) while you prepare the mixture.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic for about 5 minutes until the onion becomes translucent. Let it cool slightly.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked onion and garlic with the ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, sparkling water, and parsley. Mix everything together with your hands until well combined.
Divide the mixture into 6 equal balls. Flatten each ball into a thin patty.
Cut the Gouda cheese into cubes or strips, and place a piece of cheese in the center of each patty. Fold the meat around the cheese, sealing it tightly to prevent the cheese from leaking during cooking.
Place the stuffed meat patties on a greased baking sheet and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the patties are cooked through.
Serve warm with your favorite sides or in a bun for a delicious burger. Enjoy!
