Equipment

  • 1 Sharp Knife
  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 large pot

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs 700 g beef round or shoulder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons Vegeta seasoning or all-purpose seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 parsley root
  • 2 carrots

Instructions

Prepare the Pot

  • Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil.
  • Once boiling, add salt, Vegeta seasoning, black pepper, bay leaves, and beef. Remember to wait until the water boils before adding the meat.

Cook the Beef

  • Let the beef cook on low heat for 1 hour.
  • While it's cooking, slice the carrots and parsley root into rounds, and cut the onion into strips.

Add the Vegetables

  • After the first hour, carefully add the vegetables to the pot.
  • Continue to cook everything together on low heat for another hour.

Rest and Slice the Meat

  • After the second hour, both the meat and vegetables should be cooked.
  • Remove the meat from the pot and let it rest on a cutting board for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Serve

  • Slice the meat into pieces about half an inch thick.
  • Serve immediately. If you're serving later, you can return the meat to the cooking liquid to keep it juicy.

Save the Broth

  • The liquid in which the meat and vegetables cooked is quite salty, so it's not recommended to serve it as soup.
  • Instead, strain it into a container, store it in the freezer, and use it as a broth base in future recipes. Enjoy!

Notes

Choice of Meat: Marbled cuts like round or shoulder work best for this recipe.
Vegetables: Feel free to add any veggies you like or have on hand.
Seasoning: The amount of seasoning is important for the flavor. Adjust to your taste, but keep in mind it enhances the meat and vegetables.
